Our Legacy
There are some journeys that are built not just on business, but on dreams, resilience, and real human connection.
Many years ago, a man with quiet determination set out to build something of his own. After trying his hand at different businesses, he found himself drawn to ready-made curtains. It may have seemed like a small beginning to others, but to him, it was an opportunity to create something meaningful.
The early years were not easy.
He travelled across India with his team of a few trustable people, setting up stalls at exhibitions in one city after another. For the first 16 years of his married life, this was his routine. Months away from home, away from his family, living out of bags, constantly moving, and carrying responsibility with him wherever he went. It was not just physically tiring, it was emotionally heavy too.
While he was away from his own home, he was helping others build theirs...
In every city, he met new people. He spoke to them with warmth and sincerity, never treating them like just customers. He listened, he understood, and he helped them choose things that would become a part of their everyday lives. Curtains that would hang in their living rooms, cushions that would sit in their homes for years. In his own quiet way, he became a small part of so many households across the country. And people remembered him for that.
He was simple, kind, and genuine. Customers didn’t just come back for the products, they came back for him. For the conversations, the trust, and the comfort they felt around him.
Over time, one city began to feel like home; Pune.
In 1993, he made the decision to settle there and finally build something more permanent, something closer to his family. With the savings he had carefully gathered over years of exhibitions, he opened his own showroom in the busy lanes of Laxmi Road. That decision changed everything.
With honesty, consistency, and a deep sense of responsibility towards every customer, the business grew steadily. He was supported by a small team of loyal people who stood by him through the years. Slowly, his store became one of the most trusted places in the city for ready-made curtains, cushions, and home furnishings.
As time passed, his children joined him.
They had seen his journey up close; the sacrifices, the discipline, and the way he treated people. They carried those values forward while bringing in new ideas of their own. Together, they began creating their own range of curtains, cushions, and bedsheets, focusing on better quality, thoughtful designs, and what people would truly enjoy in their homes.
What started as a small stall had now become a name people trusted without a second thought. And somewhere along this journey, one feeling became very clear; this was never just a business. It was always personal. Every customer who walked in was treated like their own. Every home they helped decorate felt, in a small way, like their own. Every choice was made keeping someone else’s space, comfort, and happiness in mind. That is where the name came from.

But every story that is built to last eventually finds its way into the hands of the next generation.
And that is where our story begins.
We are Uzair and Adeeba.
Adeeba is Aslam Shaikh’s daughter. She grew up watching this business from the closest seat possible. She saw the long hours, the customers who became family, the decisions that were always made with honesty, and most importantly, the values her father built this business on.
For her, this was never just a business that belonged to her family.
It was a part of her childhood, her home, and her identity.
Today, Adeeba brings her expertise as the Creative Head and Branding Specialist, while Uzair brings his expertise in marketing and business strategy. With our background in Marketing, we bring together our understanding of branding, consumer behaviour, content, and marketing to shape the next chapter of the business.
And together, we saw something bigger.
Together, we saw something bigger.

We saw the potential to take everything that had been built over the years and make it accessible to people across India.
And we wanted to bridge that gap.
So, we decided to take Aapka Furnishing online.
What followed was much more than simply creating a website.
For over a year, we worked on understanding what the brand stood for, building its identity, creating designs, producing content, developing its marketing strategy, and figuring out how to bring the warmth and personal touch of a real store into a digital experience.
There were countless ideas, changes, late nights, mistakes, experiments, and moments when we had to start all over again.
But whenever things felt overwhelming, we reminded ourselves of what we were actually building.
We were not starting from zero.
We were building on everything that came before us.
On the years Aslam Shaikh spent traveling from city to city.
On the relationships he built with thousands of customers.
On the trust that took decades to earn.
And on the values that were passed down to us.
That is what made this journey so much more meaningful.
Because we were not simply building an online brand.
We were carrying forward a legacy.
